Austin, a while ago.

Sometime two summers ago, my friend and former co-worker Krishna Mohan visited San Antonio. We drove up to Austin, strolled around the State Capitol grounds and eventually made it to McKinney Falls, which was, unfortunately dry. Yes, yes, wrong season and all that. However, we did enjoy a nice hike in the woods surrounding the falls. Again, wrong season, but why not? Here are some pictures from that little trip.

Up top is the State Capitol. Quite an impressive building. The picture on the right is a shot of the rotunda from the ground floor. This is a popular tourist attraction - not so easy to set up for a stable shot within the extremely crowded lobby.

And this is the dried detritus filling up water channels in the park. Come the right season, everything is blue and green and quite beautiful. But right now, not so much.
