there is a better way to edit this file... yes, there usually is.. and it usually involves vi. vi is the Grandmaster of all text editors, it has been around forever and is the most powerful, and takes no time to initialize because it runs off your terminal in text mode directly and for people who know some 30 or so commands, it is the smartest and most intuitive thing in the world. Go vi!
