A friend sent me this story about India's widows being shunned by their families and being basically thrown out on the street after their husbands pass away. For a society that prides itself on the respect given to the elderly, this is a shame.

It is also a shame when journalists don't inform the readers the whole truth. Not all Indian women are thrown out of the streets after their husbands are dead. This situation is probably a very rare thing to happen in most places in India, and most Indians will read this article in disbelief.
