- It goes round and round.
- You wait in eager anticipation for what is yours.
- People will elbow you in the ribs to get closer to the carousel.
- If you are a decent bloke, you will help the elderly, the frail and the infirm pick up theirs'. For your trouble, you might just miss your article as it swooshes past.
- Someone else might sneak in and grab your bags.
- Sometimes it looks like everyone else has got theirs' and you are still waiting in line.
- When yours' finally turns up, it might be scuffed, dented, or just totally wrecked.

Why a baggage claim carousel is a metaphor for life itself.
