I love my Olympus. It is an excellent camera, and it works fast and smooth... having had it for 
almost a year, I can work almost intuitively, without looking at a menu option ever. And, of course, the battery lasts forever. I was at the Indian Classical Music and Dance group concert yesterday at the Michigan League. These guys are a really talented bunch of performers.

The setting: the Hussey room, of the League was also pretty nice. This room seats about a hundred (packed, as I noticed);
and has a very somber walnut wood paneling. Now with two curtains open, I had enough ambient light to shoot at halfway decent shutter speeds... like 1/80 sec.
Remember that I use a 40-150 mm lens for close shots.
Hence.. tripod. But then, they decided to close the curtains... ambient light helps me... but distracts the performers.. and then you can see the results: noise!!!!! Shooting at anything like ISO 800 and above is going to fill you up with noise. A leetil bit of despeckling helps, but that is of limited use.
